Valhalla Festival
Valhalla Festival hoort bij ontwikkelingen en activiteiten, omdat men er een avondje tussenuit gaat om de activiteit te ondernemen. Eenmaal daar zal er een beleving ontstaan waar men mentaal gelukkig van wordt. Hierdoor zal men hoogstwaarschijnlijk alle dagelijkse bezigheden even vergeten en totaal opgaan in de muziek en het spektakel erom heen. Men kan er dansen en bewegen, wat weer bijdraagt aan het fysieke welzijn. Daarnaast zal de bezoeker omgeven worden door andere mensen, er zullen nieuwe contacten ontstaan, die het sociale welzijn van de mens weer zal versterken.

The Vegua
The Vegua draagt bij aan het emotionele welzijn. De vissen kunnen naast dat ze functioneel zijn, ook een soort gezelschap vormen, wat de eigenaar een gelukkig gevoel kan geven. Daarnaast zal The Vegua voor een fysiek welzijn zorgen, omdat deze voedsel produceert voor de eigenaar. Omdat het voedsel erg vers is, draagt het bij aan een andere gezondere levensstijl

The Loft
The Loft draagt bij aan zowel het mentale, materiele als sociale welzijn. Het materiele welzijn geldt voor het feit dat er spullen te koop zijn. Deze spullen zijn niet de eerste de beste, men moet er best wat geld voor neerleggen. Het mentale welzijn wordt verbeterd doordat het shoppen een mens gelukkig kan maken, door er even tussenuit te zijn. Ook is The Loft een beleving omdat het ingericht als een appartement, er wordt een living room society gecreëerd, waar men zich mentaal mee verbonden kan voelen. Sociaal gezien draagt het bij omdat men vaak met meerdere mensen The Loft bezoekt en daar ook weer in aanraking kan komen met meerdere, nieuwe mensen.

#StadswildStadsWild past goed bij ontwikkelingen en activiteiten, omdat het evenement in de stad plaats vindt en daar ook uitgevoerd kan worden. Men kan voor een grotendeels zelf bepalen op welke manier er gesport wordt, dat geeft hen mentaal gezien ook een soort ruimte. Er wordt gesport, wat bijdraagt aan het fysieke welzijn en er wordt endorfine aangemaakt dat een gelukshormoon aanwakkerd.

Eau d'Amsterdam
Eau d'Amsterdam is een geurtje dat je overal en nergens herinnert aan Amsterdam. Door de geur te ruiken, zal er mentaal een prettig gevoel bij ontstaan. Omdat men zich de stad en/of de herinneringen die men met de stad heeft terug zal halen.

The Hague Art Street Tour
Dit project past bij emotional wellbeing, omdat de bezoeker er blij van kan worden als hij/zij mooie kunstwerken ziet. Aangezien de bezoeker een grote wandeltocht moet doorstaan, zal het ook het fysieke welzijn verbeteren. Daarnaast is het een actviteit die de bezoeker moet ondergaan, dus past het om die reden goed bij ontwikkelingen en activiteiten.

Alice's Adventures Underground
Het emotionele welzijn wordt verbeterd omdat de bezoeker wordt geprikkeld door theater met daarbij vele kleuren, licht en geluid. De bezoeker moet heel de tunnel doorlopen om de show te mogen zien, dus dit zal daarom een fysieke uitdaging zijn. Ook dit is een activiteit die men moet ervaren en daarom sluit ook ontwikkelingen en activiteiten hier goed bij aan. Daarnaast kan men die met meerdere personen ervaren, wat weer het sociale welzijn zal verbeteren.

Turn to the future
Dit project kan men emotioneel gezien verbeteren, omdat er wordt 'gespeeld' met woonruimtes. De bewoner zal iedere keer in een andere woonruimte terecht komen, waardoor hij dit mentaal gezien als een beleving kan ervaren en dit positiviteit kan brengen.

The Snake BicycleDoor een fietstocht af te leggen wordt het fysieke welzijn verbeterd. Ook het mentale welzijn wordt verbeterd, aangezien het een leuke en spannende ervaring kan zijn om over zo'n vernieuwd fietspad te fietsen. Daarnaast kan het sociale welzijn sterker worden, doordat men meer meerdere tegelijk samenfietst.

Urban GeodeMen kan mentaal gezien blij worden van het zien van deze kunstwerken. Het is iets wat men niet zo snel verwacht als hij op straat loopt en ineens glinsterende stenen tegenkomt. Hier kan men dus een positief gevoel door krijgen.

Waterdicht
Waterdicht is een activiteit waar men op af kan gaan, dus dit past goed bij ontwikkelingen en activiteiten. Daarnaast zal men mentaal er door geprikkeld raken, omdat hij in een nieuwe belevingswereld terecht komt die hem aan het denken kan zetten. Doordat het een illusie is, zal men hierdoor worden verrast. Ook zit hier een sociaal aspect aan vast, omdat duizenden mensen hier op af komen. De kans is dus groot dat men nieuwe contacten zal leggen.

One-Wheeler
De One-Wheeler zal het fysieke welzijn verbeteren doordat men actief gebruik maakt van het skateboard. Ook zal het mentale welzijn sterker worden, doordat men blij is dat hij hier gebruik van kan maken. Daarnaast is het ook een leuk hebbeding, waar aardig wat geld voor opzij moet worden gelegd, om die reden past het materiele welzijn hier goed bij.

One-Wheeler Skateboard

The one-wheeler is a combination between an hoverboard and a snowboard. This snowboard has been developed by designer Kyle Doerksen. He wanted to create a floating-on-powder feeling over asphalt. He needed a system that could auto-balance a ride. With a couple of engineers he developed a electric skateboard that turns like a snowboard and handles like a hoverboard. After many hours of working: OneWheel was born.

As we all know, designers are always looking for new stuff to create and find new ways to help people to move themselves better or easier. This one wheel electric skateboard fits into Human Movement, because it's a sport activity and people can move to every single place. It also fits into the trend Sustainable Cities because it is an effective way to see the city. Having this 'gadget' will make it funnier for them to see more of the city.

The attractiveness of cities

Cities are getting more attractive for visitors. Nowadays people are not always even go to cities just for fun.  There are many projects which will improve cities to make them more sustainable, more good-looking and also better to move. I found a few projects which fits appearance and human movement as well.

The Bicycle Snake is a Scandinavian project which can describe as a long orange bridge, which sets off at Havneholmen and continues in a meandering course along the shopping mall Fisketorvet. The Super Cycle Tracks will generate better conditions for commuter cyclists and encourage more people to take the bike instead of the car, also for longer trips. The Bicyle Snake will generate a better urban environment, less congestion and more health, for the benefit of all road users. The Super Cycle Tracks are made with as few obstacles as possible establishing new bicycle lanes, bridges and tunnels to create faster and safer routes for commuter cyclists. This project is a mix of different sectors. First of all Human Movement because of the way people replace themselves. It fits the Health sector well, because people will take the bike instead of the car. But it will give the city also a beautiful look.

Urban Geode is a project by Peige Smith, a.k.a. Common Name. She  creates a street art series of sculptures that resemble geodes, made entirely of paper and resin casts which will give cities a beautiful view. Besides that it will probably stimulate you to walk, because you want to see more and more of the creative works.

Waterdicht is an amazing artwork founded by Studio Roosegaarde. Yesterday Amsterdam turned into a beautiful waterparadise at the Museumplein. At least, it's not a real water paradise, but an impressive lighting show that gives you the feeling you that you're underneath the water. Daan Roosegaarde, founder of this project, used LED technology for an unbelievable experience and perception to create an illusion of a virtual flooding. This project fits into Appearance, because of the beautiful experience, but you also have to walk to see more of it, so that fits Human Movement as well.

Alice's Adventures Underground

Nowdays cities would get used in different, new ways. For example the tunnel sytstem of the Vault. This is an exhibition space which is located under London's Waterloo station. The exhibition will get used for a new theatre show called 'Alice's Adventures Underground'. Visitors are walking through the tunnels where they make choices which will influence the course of the show.

I think is a very smart way to show an exhibition. First of all because London's Waterloo is very famous, so people will find it very easy. But this is also a new way to give tunnels a less scary appearance.

This exhibition fits into the trend Sustainable Cities, because people need to walk through the tunnel to see the whole show. But it's also sustainable because they used the tunnel in a new way. So it has been no longer an useless place.

Turn to the future

We all dream of our 'future' house, or maybe two, three, or four?! Taiwanese 'upcoming' industrial designer Shin Kuo's founded a new way to let your dreams come true. He designed a living tower where you can live in different houses at the same time. Okay, sounds a little weird. But yes, maybe you will stay in a penthouse today and tomorrow you will live in a little apartment on the eight floor.

All apartments will be conected with an intern motor, which will move the apartments with the little help of a corkscrew. The whole idea is to let people think about their environment in a new way. Because when they are living on the highest floor, they are more connected with the sky, and on the first floor, they will be more in a civilization. They would like to think more about sustainability and the way they use the building. So is the a good way of smart living.

The Hague Street Art Tour

Honestly, a few years ago I thought graffiti was awful. I just hated it. Why? Because I thought it was pollution. But nowadays graffiti has an other definition for me. Graffiti has been changed in art.
Yes, street 'art'. When I walked in Paris a few years ago, I was completely overwhelmed how many people were staring at a young, talented man who made some amazing art in the middle of a square.
He made an amazing 3D art work in front of many people. Just for fun!

I think the most important thing people liked this, is because of the fact that art is everywhere. You don't always have to go to a musea to see art. The second reason is streetart is often personally. When there's a story behind an art work people are getting fascinated.

Three years later 'streetart' has been a real phenomenon. Berlin, London, New York already organized street art tours and now it's up to The Hague! Participants will visit 40 works of talented artists in the public space of 'Segbroek'. Visitors can composed their own route on the website of the tour.

Streetart gives cities an additional look and make it more nice for people to walk through the city and find some amazing artwork.

Unfortunately, at this moment I haven't still visited the street art tour. But yes, I will go as soon as possible! So this post will be continued....

Kliekiepedia
Hoofdzaak van het Kliekiepedia initiatief is het tegengaan van voedselverspilling. Dit heeft zowel een mentaal als een sociaal effect. Mentaal gezien zal het men voldoening geven om iets tegen de grote voedselverspilling te doen en uiteraard doen we dat niet allen, maar met zoveel mogelijk anderen. Hierdoor zal de sociale welzijn vergroot worden.

HNGRY kan zowel fysiek als mentaal van grote invloed zijn. Fysiek gezien levert het voedsel het lichaam uiteraard voldoende voedingsstoffen op. Mentaal gezien zal het hen meer rust brengen aangezien ze door dit concept niet veel moeite hoeven te doen om een maaltijd te bereide, dat zorgt voor meer rust.

Tworlds App
Tworlds App kan worden gekoppeld aan mental wellbeing. Mentaal zal er namelijk iets gebeuren wanneer je kan zien dat iemand anders precies hetzelfde moment meemaakt als jij tegelijkertijd. Dit kan je een plezierig of geruststellend gevoel geven.

Mindfood Organization
De Mindfood Organization is mentaal gezien van groot belang voor mensen uit de bijstand. De organisatie kan deze doelgroep mentaal gelukkig maken en 'gelijk' laten voelen, doordat deze mensen gewoon naar de supermarkt kunnen en niet afzonderlijk naar een voedselbank. Hierdoor zullen zij wellicht minder een schaamte gevoel hebben. Dit zal ze mentaal sterker maken.

Lully, sleeping better
Deze gadget kan het beste geplaatst worden bij mental en social wellbeing. Mentaal gezien zal de moeder van het kind meer rust in haar hoofd krijgen, omdat ze niet telkens naar de babykamer hoeft te gaan om te kijken of haar kind slaapt of niet. De Lully zal haar dat vertellen, dus op die manier kan ze ondertussen rustig televisie kijken. Sociaal gezien staat ze wel nog steeds in contact met het kind.

Meet The Lully, a device that prevents night terrors in young children. The Lully will helping better the quality of life as well as that of their family. Parents can go watching tv without feeling worried about their children's night's rest. The Lully consists of a vibrating pod and a smartphone app. The pod is placed under the child's mattress and communicates with a smartphone via Bluetooth. 

Let's telk about the principles of Don Tapscott, well, two of them: transparency and colloboration. First of all this app will help families through the most difficult part of the day and they are able to be in contact wherever they are. So they know what's happening all the time. That's the transparency trend. The second one is collaboration. Collaboration is mostly about working together, but in this way, we're talking about staying together on a certain distance. Because it´s a kind of collaboration between mother and child.

What about the future? Well, we already live in a world where we can being in contact every minute of the day. But this is just the beginning of the open world. I think the future will be totally open. There will be no secrets anymore, also called as radical transparency. Privacy will be a forbidden word. I am wondering what this means for society...and how we deal with it.

Community Shop is a social enterprise that is empowering individuals and building stronger communities, by realising the social potential of surplus food. Members of Community Shop can shop for good food at great prices, easing pressure on family budgets, but also gain access to professional, personal development programmes, to kick-start positive change in their own lives.

This is an empowerment about non-wasting food, but also to stimulate individuals for building a stronger life. I think this is a better community than the foodbank. Most people feeling a little unfcomfortable when they need to go the foodbank, because it's like a seperated part of our society. But the Community Shop makes it possible to throw this feeling away. They create more equality, because everbody need to go to a supermarket. So the sense of shame people have will dissapear.

Equality is an important value. We're increasingly going to a 'we-society' instead of individualism.

Tworlds app

Sometimes we all have this funny question: ''Is there anyone else out there doing this exact same thing at this exact same moment?'' Dutch designer Antoine Peters created an app to get the answer ''Tworlds'' and it works very simple.

Log in, allow the app to know your location, and then choose one of the twenty or so subject prompts. For example you tap #rainbow. You take a picture of the beautiful rainbow you see, and Tworlds will immediately share your picture with someone else who is doing the same thing with #rainbow, at that moment. In return you will get the picture from the other and both pictures will be frozen for a moment. 

Of course this is exactly what transparency is about: the poverty to need to know what someone else is doing at the same time. Why are we so curious about that? Maybe we feel a little bit loneliness and are we looking for some support, or is it just curiosity and just for having fun? The future will figure it out...

HNGRY is a food concept store located in Antwerp. At thise store you have the possibility to chose between 10 different dishes. All dishes are preselected including their ingedrients. So, if you have no inspiration for cooking a fabulous dinner, you surely have to go to HNGRY. It´s like walking in a 'living' cookbook.

This concept is espescially for hard working people and those who hate devising a delicious meal every day. We already had Hello Fresh, but obviously we still want to go out for buying food.

I think we have to talk about the ´empowerment´ principle, because of the fact everything must be faster and faster. Rapidity is becoming a part of our society. At the end of the day, most people want to create a dinner as soon as they can.  But this concept is also focused on food wasting. Customers can take the right quantity they need for their meals. So the chance is less more they throw it away. Together, they built an empowerment.

Kliekiepedia

Every year we wasted 1,3 billion tonnes of food worldwide. In the Netherlands we wasted 50 pounds of food per person. But how is it possible? Well, there are many reasons. One of them is the fact that we're cooking too much food, especially rice and pasta. Now SIRE wants to get the attention to this problem.

So last month they launched a new website: Kliekipedia. At this online platform you can find the latest tips about using leftover food in a conscious way. There are many categories like fruit, vegetables, bread, potatoes, meat etc. For example you can find a recipe about croucons, made of stale bread, or a broccoli cake, filled with old cheese and broccoli.

The funny thing is everbody has the possibility to share their recipes and tips with each other. So we're talking about the collaboration trend. Surely people helping other people and sharing their ideas together. Trough this, people will be more conscious about their food habits. At the other hand we create more empowerment to stimulate sustainibility and awareness to others. Conclusion: this trend fits into three principles: sharing, collaboration and empowerment.

Bij deze coolhunt is er een combinatie tussen material wellbeing en emotional wellbeing. Het scheermesje opzich past goed bij material wellbeing, aangezien het om een product gaat waar behoefte naar is. Emotioneel gezien neigt het gebruik van het scheermesje naar meer 'status' voor de vrouw. De vrouw stelt zich hierbij immers gelijk aan de man.

Deze coolhunt past goed bij emotional wellbeing, omdat het feit dat leeftijd vaak gekoppeld is aan hoe we eruit zien, voortkomt uit hoe we denken. We vormen een bepaald beeld en hebben er een bepaald gevoel bij, dit is gelinkt aan ons emotionele welzijn.

#ThisGirlCan#ThisGirlCan past goed bij fysieke wellbeing, omdat het hier om sport gaat, waarbij lichamelijke inspanning centraal staat. Maar ook is het een stukje emotional wellbeing, omdat het hierbij gaat om vrouwen van alle leeftijden en gewichten ook de kans te geven om zich in de sportschool te vertonen zonder dat ze zich hoeven te schamen en onzeker te voelen. Hierdoor zullen zij zich emotioneel beter voelen.

Deze coolhunt staat in het teken van mental wellbeing, omdat hier wordt vasgesteld hoe gender identiteiten precies worden bepaald, namelijk via de hersenen. Dit staat weer in verband met de acceptatie rondom genders, aangezien het nog steeds een groot maatschappelijk onderwerp is waar onduidelijkheid over is.

Deze coolhunt kan worden gelinkt aan social wellbeing en mental wellbeing. Social wellbeing omdat je mensen in je omgeving laat geloven dat je echt een partner hebt, je betrekt hier dus anderen bij. Mental wellbeing omdat het effect heeft op de gebruiker van de app, omdat men op deze manier zijn/haar partner probeert te idealiseren. De gebruiker haalt hier mentaal gezien voldoening uit.

It sounds a little desperate, but this app make others believe that you're in a relationship.

The Invisible Boyfriend and The Invisible Girlfriend are both apps who let your boyfriend or girlfriend come alive.

How does it work? It's quite easy. You have to create an account for 21 euros. From the moment your virtual partner is born, you will receive a story about how you guys met each other. You will also receive a hundred text messages and a handwritten letter from your partner. And of course this app will send you (and your family) 'fake' selfies with your lover. 

What's going on with us? Why do we need a fake partner? The answer is maybe quite easy: perfection.

These days we want to create our 'perfect' life with 'perfect' friends and yes... our perfect partner. But unfortunately, in real life it can be very hard. We are a little bit afraid of others opinion, espescially our parents' opinion, and thereby we can't make choices directly. So if we're using this app, we're creating perfection in an easy way. Besides that, we retain our own life. So there are no real troubles or arguments, because of the fact your partner is unreal. Individualism will growing faster and faster.

I think this is just the beginning of creating our own life. We just have to wait a few more years before we go out for shopping our self-made characteristics. To be continued...

Gender identity

Transsexuality or transgenderism is becoming an increasingly discussed topic. But there is still some misunderstanding about this subject. The difference is that transsexual people are changing their gentials actually. On the otherhand transgenders has only the feelings of being a man or woman or something between in. They don't do operations.

In a new study researchers has found gender identity depends on how the brain networks is structured. The researchers found significant differences in the structure of the brain connections between male and female control participants. They also discovered that the transsexual participant's has other brain connections than male and female participants. Gender identity can also be identified by biological sex, sex hormones and sexual orientation, that means not only by pshycial appearances.

In my opinion transsexuality and transgenderism will be more acceptable by society if they know the facts about this subject. Fortunately, it's already become a more accepted thing, but I think most people have still no idea what transsexuality or transgenderism comes from. They judging only on physical appearances. So the results of the research should make it clearer for them.

#ThisGirlCan

#ThisGirlCan is a new campaign founded by British fitness organization Sport England. The campaign has been started to encourage women doing more health athletic activities.

Since the eighties we have been influenced by images of idealized and stylized women while doing their exercises. It's a consequence of virtualisation.

Research by Sport England found that 2 million fewer women between the age of 14 and 40 play sports than men do. The reason is women are afraid of judgement.

#ThisGirlCan will show the opposite of these idealized images. Women of all ages, weights and cultures should have the oppurtunity to do their exercises without feeling insecure. They becoming a power woman and own personality.

What if age is just a mind-set?

Age has always been linked to specifical externals. For example: The older you are, the more lines you'll get. Our society decided we all have to look younger on photo's.

But what if age is just a mind-set? Then you will get this pictures below made by photographer Zachary Scott. In this serie Zachary made younger kids like seventy-year-old grannies.

It's clearly the opposite of what we normally want: the younger look. This can be linked to the trend: status. We are influenced by society. Every single photo has been photoshopped, model agencies are always looking for the youngest people, because they are rough. But why aren't we pretty with an older look? Because it's a society thing. Appearances and ages are going together. We can't see them seperated.

But listen... Scientists already predict that we're going to be immortal, so that means we don't have to identify us with our ages anymore, and there will be no longer a difference between younger and older.

Face shaving for women

Women shaving their faces is the new huge beauty trend! Sounds a little manly, but therewith it's very interesting.

Nowadays, we're living in an aging population. And this population will growing faster and faster. I think that's one of the facts why women are shaving their face: they wanna have a younger looking face.

But why do they chose specifically the razor-blade?

Men and women getting closer in the field of their appearances and features. We're talking about feminism. So when women are shaving their faces in the early morning, they feel a little bit stronger and more powerful. There will be equality between men and woman doing the same thing. Instead of women feeling shamed for shaving their faces, it would be described as self care if society accepts this new ritual.

I think in a couple of years women are getting the same habits as men to create an equality life.
